This tofu is ready to eat as is, in a poke bowl with the dressing of your choice or in a stir fry with the marinade used in this recipe.
1 package extra-firm tofu
2 oranges, juiced
6 tablespoons low sodium tamari sauce
2 tablespoons freshly grated ginger
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1 green onion, sliced
2 tablespoons sesame seeds
2 tablespoons sesame oil
2 tablespoons peanut oil
Cut the tofu in cubes and drain with paper towels for 30 minutes. See my story for the method.
Add the orange juice, sesame oil, chopped garlic and tamari sauce in a shallow container. Add the drained cubes and let them marinate for 30 minutes minimum.
Just before cooking the tofu, add the sesame seeds and mix well. Heat a pan at medium with the peanut oil. Fry the tofu and turn frequently until golden, for about 8 to 10 minutes. Add sliced green onions before serving.
If you want to use the cooked tofu in a stir fry, add 1 tablespoon of cornstarch to the marinade and mix well. Add it to the cooked tofu and cooked vegetables before serving.
