Spotlight on leeks

I love leeks. Perfect in soups, salads and omelettes. Delicate and sweet, they are a great substitute to onions. There’s many reasons to include them in your favorite recipes.


⭐️Part of the allium family, cousins to the onion and garlic. Several studies link alliums to a lower risk of heart disease and stroke.


⭐️Rich source of antioxydants, particularly polyphenols and sulfur compounds. Antioxidants fight oxidation, which damages cells and contributes to illnesses like cancer, heart disease and diabetes.


⭐️Considered as a prebiotic and a good source of soluble fiber, which feeds the beneficial bacteria in the gut. These bacteria help digestive health as well as reducing inflammation.
